NEXGEN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

*Winner of the Ashoka U Innovation Award*

The NexGen Leadership Program is an award-winning 5 week intensive program offering an in-person, international social impact consulting experience and strengths-based leadership training for graduate students from top universities. It aims to develop the next generation of responsible and inclusive leaders by challenging students to complete a social impact consulting project with a nonprofit or social enterprise in Peru, South Africa, or Spain.

The NexGen Leadership Program is neither a traditional summer volunteering experience nor a traditional summer internship experience. We have designed the program to offer students a very unique experience that allows them to do meaningful work with an incredible organization while also partaking in a team-based group learning environment.

MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT

Emzingo|U has worked with over 50+ organisations globally over the last several years. Bean There South Africa 2022

Organisation Description: Bean There is South Africa's first roaster of certified fair-trade coffee. Their goal is to make a sustainable difference in the lives of African coffee producers through direct fair-trade.

The Project: Bean There wants to know if they are suitable for a B Corp certification as well as quantify the impact of doing direct business with small scale farmers. In addition to this, they welcome any suggestions to make their supply chain more efficient, that obviously fit within their social enterprise values.

Deleitewear

Spain 2022

Organization Description: Deleitewear’s philosophy is based on the certainty that there are alternatives to fast fashion (Upcycling). They are a triple bottom line business whose main funding reason is not only the economic profit but an environmental and social benefit as well.

The Project: Deleitewear´s main objective is to build a Cooperative as a way of supporting women that used to work in textile workshops and local entrepreneurs, giving them the chance of having their own business without being discriminated. It will also help local entrepreneurs by having a workshop where they can continue to create products, grow as a company, and continue with their mission of educating customers to live a more conscious lifestyle.
